Argentina's Patagonia
Parque Nacional Los Glaciers
With almost 1.5 million acres of rugged wilderness stretching across the Argentinean Patagonian, Parque Nacional Los Glaciers proves a world of desolate discovery. While many of its wonders remain inaccessible to the masses, two dramatic scenes of pinnacle geological intrigue prove well worth the visit; the granite needles of FitzRoy near El Chalten, and the magnificent Perito Moreno Glacier.
Each setting offers a breathtaking perspective of two of Patagonia’s finest, while the thundering rivers, blue lakes and thick beech forest that surrounds the sights are equally deserving of a pause and admiration. With its wild yet sublimely beautiful setting and wonderful blend of surprise, wonder, adventure and serenity, it is no wonder Parque Nacional Los Glaciers was designated a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1981.
