This exquisitely preserved regional capital offers a superb opportunity to immerse oneself in local culture at such venues as the Indian Market, where vendors dress in traditional garb and sell food, crafts and fine textiles. While smaller than nearby Salta, Jujuy remains an excellent point from which to explore the natural wonders of the Quebrada de Humahuaca, or Humahuaca Gorge, or simply a fine destination in which to tour the region’s intricate architecture.
